Ministries: Outreach: Bargains Galore Thrift Store

I was naked and you gave me clothing:

Every Saturday morning, from 8 to noon, Bargains Galore opens its two buildings and outdoor patio to customers. The store is well stocked with a great variety of clothing items for both men and women as well as shoes, toys, kitchen and household items, linens, televisions, computers, small appliances, and sometimes furniture. Not only are the very low prices a significant value for the surrounding community, but Bargains' items can aid families suffering from a catastrophe, e.g. fire.

 

The proceeds are a source of funds for our outreach ministries as well as aiding the church’s  budget by creating an emergency fund.

 

Bargains Galore is entirely run by volunteers, and all merchandise is donated. We thank God for all the 50+ hard working volunteers who work on Saturday and during the week and for the people who bring their generous donations to Bargains. We also thank God for the opportunity to serve St. Christopher’s and the surrounding community.

Many repeat customers come in every week to chat with us and see what is new. Some customers ask for prayers; some ask about the programs at St Christopher’s. We put a flyer in every bag telling what our outreach programs are and information about St. Christopher’s.
